Baseball/Softball Post Season Pairings

The Salem Wildcats will be the 3-seed in their upcoming Class 2a Sub-Sectional that feeds into Breese Central.  Salem will open up at the Greenville Regional on Thursday, May 18th against the host Comets.  The regional opens with TTown and Vandalia on the 15th with that winner playing on the 17th against 2-seed Flora.  Regional championship will be held on Saturday May 20th.

The 1a baseball state champion just may come from the Altamont Sectional.  With 5 state ranked teams in the top 11 represented in the field it is sure to be a test of a team who makes it through the gauntlet.  South Central is the sight for the May 15th opener between Cisne and Dieterich with the winner getting 2nd seed North Clay the 17th.  South Central is the 3-seed and will open on the 17th at 7pm against Red Hill.  The regional title game will be May 20th.  At Brownstown, the top ranked team in the state St Anthony will open with the winner of Ramsey and CHBC.  Altamont and Brownstown/St Elmo play in the other semifinal.

The other 1a Sub-Sectional of note comes feeding into Greenville’s Sectional.  Christ Our Rock is the top seed and regional host.  They will play the winner of Odin/Patoka/Sandoval and Lebanon while New Athens will play either Okawville or Carlyle.

The Salem Lady Wildcats will be the 2-seed in their sub-sectional that feeds into Freeburg.  They will also play at Greenville opening up on May 16th against the winner of Hillsboro and Litchfield.  Greenville and Staunton will play for a chance to take on Gillespie in the other semifinal with the regional final being on Friday the 19th.

South Central is the 1a regional and sectional.  They are the number one seed and will open with the winner of Cisne and Webber.  Grayville and Wayne City are the other semifinal.

In the Hardin Calhoun Sectional, Christ Our Rock will host their opening game against Lebanon with the winner playing 2nd seed Valmeyer.  OPS will play Marissa in the other semifinal.
