Alma Mayor Russell Swift was pleased with the turnout for the village’s annual Consignment Auction held on Saturday.
Several streets were lined with flatbed trucks full of items for the sale and more than 250 obtained numbers to bid.
“I think we’ve had an exceptionally good sale today. We’ve had great weather for it. Seems like everybody is hungry and eating well inside. All these proceeds will enable us to buy a few extra Christmas decorations this year.”
While no final sales numbers are available, Swift is hopeful they will raise several thousand dollars.
