A 30-year-old Centralia man has been arrested on weapons and drug charges after allegedly threatening to shoot himself and another person in the home before firing a single shot inside his home.
Patrick Flanigan was taken to the Marion County Jail for reckless discharge of a firearm, aggravated assault, and possession of a controlled substance.
Centralia Police dispatch reported receiving a 911 call Saturday morning from a female in the 400 block of East Kerr stating that Flanigan was making threats to fire the weapon.
While dispatch was getting additional information from the female a single shot was heard. The female was able to get out of the residence without injury.
Officers made contact with Flanigan when arriving on the scene. He was taken into custody without incident.
Several firearms, a white powdery substance that field tested positive for cocaine along with one spent 9mm shell casing were recovered on scene.
The Illinois State Police Crime Scene Investigations were contacted to process the scene.
The call for assistance came in at 6:21 Saturday morning.
