The South Locust Street Historic Fair in Centralia drew another big crowd this year.

While the weather had been a question mark for Saturday all week, Centralia Community Development Director Gayla Harting was pleased to see the length of the fair along South Locust Street full of people throughout the day.

“We have been packed from Broadway down to Third Street the entire time.  Having some new things added this year, with the Salem tractors being in, drew some different people.  A couple of different types of vendors.   Of course, our car show is always great.  He had about 70 cars in here this year.  We were a little iffy about the weather, but it has held off.  It has been perfect.”

There was also a historic walk down Locust to talk about the history of the building as well as tours and talks about Elmwood Cemetery.

Harting says the event continues to grow each year.
