A 43-year-old Evansville, Indiana woman has pleaded guiilty to the first-degree murder of a rural Dix man.

Retha McIntire was sentenced Thursday in Jefferson County to 25 years in prison for the September 29th, 2022 shooting death of Cadias Jackson at the Rolling Meadows Trailer Park.   McIntire will have to serve 100 percent of the time.  All other charges were dropped.

A co-defendant, Treyaveon Massie, was found guilty of the murder by a Jefferson County Judge in March and is currently scheduled to be sentenced on May 18th.

McIntire had been scheduled to go on trial for the murder next Tuesday.

Prosecutors say Massie fired the fatal shots, while McIntire was charged under the accountability theory.

On the evening of the murder, Jefferson County Sheriff’s Deputies found Jackson at his home with multiple gunshot wounds.   He later died after being transferred to Crossroads Community Hospital in Mt. Vernon.

The two who have admitted guilt in the shooting were among three stopped in a van in Mt. Vernon after it was seen leaving the scene of the shooting.   The third person was questioned but later released.
