Prep Baseball Roundup — Salem & SC Earn Wins Ahead Of Wednesday Showdown…Scores Around The Area

Salem Leaves Wood River With W

The Cats are coming off a win yesterday at Wood River 13-2 in six innings.  Aden Susmena and Isaak Williams both hit inside-the-park home runs.  Josh Powless drove in 3 runs as Salem also got doubles from Powless, Williams, Gavin Zimmermann and Jalen Inlow.  Drew Davis went the distance allowing 3 hits and 1 earned run with 2 strikeouts.

The Salem JV outhit Wood River 15-3 and the Oilers made 9 errors as Salem rolled to a 26-8 win.  Brody Collier led Salem with 3 RBI along with Colten Starnes.  Carter Lowe and Ryan Detering had 2 with 1 each from Eli Lograsso, Deytin Parker, Colten Shelto, Angel Salgado and Cody Beard.  Aden Bass, Braden Rector and Jackson Green pitched for the Cats.

The Salem Wildcats will make the short trip up Route 37 to Kinmundy to take on the South Central Cougars this afternoon at Lions Field.


SC Stops Skid With Win At WSS

South Central is 18-4 coming off a win at Windsor/Stew-Stras 8-4.  Anthony Buonaura was the winning pitcher going all 7 allowing 7 hits and 4 earned runs with 8 strikeouts.  Colten Smith drove in 2 Cougars runs with RBI also from Aidan Dodson, Buonaura and Callaway Smith.


CORLHS Earns Shutout Win

Christ Our Rock shutout Odin/Patoka/Sandoval 12-0 in five innings allowing just 1 hit on the day.  Hunter Lane had the lone Eagle hit.  For the Stallions, they got 2 RBI each from Jayden Bazile, Da’mari Dabney, Lendon Isaiah and Parker Boehne.  Ethan Peltas added an RBI as well.  Myles Pryor was the winning pitcher allowing 1 hit and striking out 3 in 5 innings.


North Clay Falls To TTown

North Clay fell to TTown 5-2 as the Shoes scored 4 in the second inning to grab a lead they wouldn’t give up.  For the Cardinals, Ayden Jones had 3 hits with singles also from Alex Boose, Logan Fleener, Carder Walden and Trent Ingram.  Bennett Thompson doubled twice and drove in 2 runs for TTown, Ben Goeckner added 2 RBI and a double.
