A 57-year-old Salem woman has been arrested by Salem Police for retail theft of more than $300 at the Salem Walmart Store. Sarah Cassidy of Boone Street was taken to the Marion County Jail.
44-year-old Heather Brown of East Broadway in Centralia was arrested for possession of methamphetamine. Centralia Police took her to the Marion County Jail.
25-year-old Thomas Millwood of Lois Lane in Kell turned himself in on a Marion County traffic warrant. He posted $350 cash bond and was released.
Salem Fire Protection District Firemen were called to a fire in the woods near My Tree Service in the 2800 block of Selmaville Road southwest of Salem Monday night. Firemen say about two acres burned, but threatened no buildings. Some of the fire could not be reached by truck, with firemen using backpacks of water to put out the blaze. The fire was first reported at 8:07 Tuesday night. Firemen were on the scene until 9:50 pm.
