The Salem Wildcats split their double header at Highland on Saturday. The Cats opened with a 6-0 win over the host Bulldogs, outhitting Highland 16-3. Rhett Detering was great in the complete game win allowing just 3 singles and striking out 5. At the plate, Salem got RBI from Jalen Inlow, Noah Nix, Griffin Day, Josh Powless, Drew Davis and Kam Wilkins. Isaak Williams added 3 hits and a run and Aden Susmena had 2 hits. Gavin Zimmermann scored a pair.
Salem fell in the 2nd game to Tolono Unity 11-1. Salem could only grab 3 hits, singles from Griffin Day and 2 from Drew Davis. Salem will travel to Wood River on Tuesday, play at South Central Wednesday and going to Roxana on Thursday.
