A 42-year-old Centralia woman has been sentenced to two years in prison after pleading guilty in Marion County Court to one of three felony theft charges pending against her for theft of money from another person’s Facebook Pay account.
Kelly Schuchmann of D’Ann Drive was accused of borrowing the phone of another person who used to be a family member through marriage to reportedly use it to find her lost phone. During the time she had the phone, Schuchmann allegedly made three payments to herself through the debit card hooked to the Facebook Pay account.
Schuchman admitted to one of the thefts for $400, while the other theft charges for $487 and $500 were dropped. The charges were all felonies due to a past theft conviction.
In addition to the prison term, Schuchmann was ordered to make $1,387 for all the money that was stolen.
The incident occurred in June of last year.
