The Wildcats traveled to Marion High School and the always interesting Marion Relays.
Two of the most exciting highlights involved the throw group. The discus team of Caleb Smith, Cole Johnson, Max Ambuel, Darrlly Kaufman brought home the gold in this relay. The big bomb was by Smith with a throw of 177’11! Johnson has a toss of 158’11. Kaufman with a throw of 107’2 and Ambuel with a 92’11 throw.
THEN Johnson, Max, DJ, and Owen Becker WON the 4×100 Big Guy relay. Great day for these young men.
On the shot put side Smith had a toss of 57’2 to have the best individual throw. The high jump group was 2nd with Ryegan Warren clearing 5’11 and Connor Tennyson and Austin Wooldridge clearing 5’6.
Other field highlights were Miking Ettress with a long jump of 20’2, Connor Tennyson with a triple jump of 38’6.5″, Alek Bandy with 11′ in the pole vault and Holden Richardson with a season best clearance of 9′.
On the track the 300 IM hurdle team of Sean Thornton, Angel Salgado, Carson Huggins, and Oliver Morton were first as a group. Thornton covered the distance in 40.99 seconds, Angel in 48.16. The 4×1 and 4×2 relay teams of Sam Greene, Tennyson, Ettress, and Thornton were 3rd with times of 45.39 and 1:36.81. The 4×110 shuttle hurdle team took 3rd with the team of Angel, Huggins, Richardson, and Kory Keel.
The Wildcats will not get much rest, as they return to action at the Mt. Vernon Invite on Monday with a start time of 4 pm. Programming note this meet was moved from Tuesday to Monday.
