The Christ Our Rock Silver Stallions Boys Team competed tonight at The Jared Morris Invitational in Nashville.
Due to Prom being tonight the Stalllions were without some competitors including Jr. standout distance runner Elijah Gregory, who was just named CORLHS Union Banner’s athlete of the week last week. So it would be up to other athletes to pick up the slack, and several of the boys did just that.
Soph. Zerek Koch finished 6th in the 3200 meter run. Koch was in 4th place and on PR pace heading into lap 7 of the race but got sick on the track. However he was dedicated enough to still gut it out and finish in 12:00.6. He later showed a lot of toughness coming back to run his personal best time in the 1600 meter of 5:18.0 despite not feeling well.
Isaiah Lyons also had a great day today running 2 PRs in the 400 meter and 200 meter. He narrowly missed the CORLHS school record (55.27) in the 400 by .1 of a second, running a :55.37 in the race. In the 200 meter he would not be denied. He won his heat and set a new school record in :24.91 beating the previous school record of :25.54 held by Seth Weilt (2019).
Sr. Yillian Lu also had a PR in the 400 meter dash in :55.67, Fr. Liagel Lions a PR in the 800 meter at 2:42.6 and So. Tim Meyer a PR in the Shot Put of 26’09”.
