Centralia Police say they are happy to report there were no drugs located on either the Centralia High School or Junior High campuses during drug sweeps on Wednesday utilizing canine units from around the region.
The two Centralia canine units were utilized along with dogs from Marion, Clinton and Jefferson Counties and the cities of Carmi, New Baden and St. Elmo. Centralia Police are thanking them all for their assistance on the sweep. Police note their assistance allowed the sweep to happen quickly and be as least disruptive as possible.
Centralia High and Junior High were placed on brief lockdown while the sweep was conducted.
