The Terry Heern Invitational hosted by SCHS was shortened due to thunderstorms that came through about halfway through the event. The Field Events saw a new Franklin Park School Record holder as 8th grader Trey Clark broke Morgan Mickens discus record of 155-feet set last year with his 2nd throw of the day that went 163-3.5. Clark easily won the event. Silas Lux won the shot put with a state standard throw of 44-8 with Caeden Miraglia 3rd. Marquis Ettress was 3rd in the long jump. Madden Thompson and Avery Gullion were 3rd/4th in the high jump both reaching state standard. Nate Lowry and Isiah Findley was 1-2 in the pole vault both going 8-6, the state standard.
For the girls field events, Bailee Patton was 3rd in the shot, Brylee Pennypacker 2nd in the discus throwing 90-1 going over the state standard. Mya Russell was 3rd in the long jump, Emily Runyon and Blaike Jourdan were 1-2 in the pole vault both going 7-6 and over state standard.
On the track, Alex Spencer won the hurdles in 15.12 good for a state standard time with Madden Thompson 2nd, Addi Douglas was 2nd in the girls race. The boys 4×100 relay team of Clark, Ettress, Thompson and King went 48.61 and won the event. The girls 6th grade 4×100 team won their event with the boys 3rd. Payton Gullion flew around the track in the 400m in a PR time of 56.9 which is under the state standard. Alex Spencer won the mile run in 5:02 another state standard. On the girls side, Kendall Zimmermann was 2nd.
