The Christ Our Rock Silver Stallion Boys Track and Field Team competed at The Roger Lee Invitational today in Mcleansboro.
The Silver Stallions had a great day capped off by Jr. Elijah Gregory’s record setting performance winning the 3200 meter run in a time if 10:31.2 and setting the Roger Lee Invitational Meet Record! His teammate Zerek Koch was also 2nd in the 3200 meter run race. The tandem of Gregory and Koch also ran the 1600 meter run, where Elijah Gregory was 2nd in a personal best time of 4:51.4 and Zerek Koch was 6th in 5:31.2.
Thomas Taylor, And Jaden Cushman both threw PR distances in the Discus, while Remington Burleyson just narrowly missed his and John Jansen had a PR in the Shot Put for the Stallions.
Sr. Yillian Lu ran the 100 meter dash in a PR of :12.1 and the 4×400 meter relay team of Yillian Lu, Liagel Lyons, Zerek Koch and Elijah Gregory placed 5th.
Coach Tim Koch told WJBD/WSIQ, “I was very happy with our performances today! The boys worked really hard over the past week where we didn’t have any meets and they really put in some tough workouts! Elijah Gregory has really turning some heads in the Southern Illinois Track world. I feel like he has a great shot to end this season at The State Track and Field meet at Eastern Illinois!”.
