The SC Cougars won their Wood Bat Tournament with a pair of wins on Saturday. SC beat Woodlawn 15-0 in the first game Saturday. Chase Thompson homered and drove in 3 as SC scored 10 runs in the 2nd inning. Andrew Magnus also had 3 RBI and homered. Ethan Dunn was the winning pitcher going all 4 innings allowing 1 hit and striking out 8.
SC then moved to 14-0 on the season with a 4-1 win over Flora. Brody Markley drove in 2 runs in the game. Ethan Watwood and Aidan Dodson added RBI. Coen West was the winning pitcher striking out 4 in 3 innings of hitless work. Watwood worked the final 4 innings with 3 hits and no earned runs allowed.
The North Clay Cardinals finished the tournament at 2-1 with their 2 wins on Saturday. North Clay shutout Woodlawn 15-0. Alex Boose homoered and drove in 3. Carder Walden added a double and Jesse Weidner drove in 2. Daniel Warren and Keegan Sullens combined for the win on the mound.
NC then shutout Flora 11-0. Boose and freshman Trent Ingram doubled as Ingram finished with 2 hits. Weidner and Warren each drove in 2. Cody Zimdars and Ian Jones combined for the win.
The Christ Our Rock Stallions are 10-1 as they host Lebanon today.
