Williams Grand Slam Caps Off 10-run Win For Wildcats, JV Keeps Rolling

Isaak Williams capped off a 9-run sixth inning and sent the Salem baseball fans home happy with a walk-off grand slam in Salem’s 14-2 home win over Roxana.  Williams finished with 2 hits, 3 runs scored and also stole 2 bases.  Jalen Inlow drove in 3 with 2 RBI each from Gavin Zimmermann and Noah Nix.  Colton Shelton drove in a run along with Josh Powless and Kam Wilkins.  Keaton Gullion scored a pair of runs.  Zimmermann was the winning pitcher going 5 innings allowing 5 hits and 1 earned run.  Colton Shelton got the final 3 outs.  The Wildcats are back in action at Newton for a double header on Saturday.

The Salem JV earned a 12-1 win over Roxana.  Aden Bass went 3-3 with 3 runs and 3 RBI, Rhett Detering and Ryan Detering drove in 2 runs each.  Salem also got RBI from Deytin Parker and Braden Rector.  Cooper Lobek was the winning pitcher going 5 innings allowing 4 hits and 1 earned run with 2 strikeouts.  The Salem JV will head to Pinckneyville Friday afternoon.
