The Salem Lady Cats earned a home win over East Alton Wood River 14-5. Lilly Blagoue got the win in relief striking out 11. Breanna Thurman went 4-5 and Lauren Burge was on base all 4 times. Olivia Paulson homered and drove in 3, Marah Johnson hit a 2-run homer and drove in 3. Salem will return to action today at Fairfield.
The OPS Lady Eagles fell to Woodlawn in MTC play 8-4. The Lady Eagles only managed 5 hits. Trista Moore had 3 of them, Hailey Lane and Rheagan Rollinson had the others. OPS is 4-1 in MTC play and 7-3 overall as they travel to Okawville today.
South Central shutout St Elmo/Brownstown 12-0. Ella Watwood was the winning pitcher going all five innings. At the plate, Taegan Webster homered and doubled, Kaitlyn Swift had 2 RBI with runs driven in also by Brooklyn Garrett, Watwood, Emily Rose, Percilla Reid, Karli Holmes and 2 RBI from Abi Shuler. SC is 10-3 overall and 3-2 in the NTC as they play at Flora today.
Centralia Annies routed Cahokia 20-0 and 18-0 in double header sweep.
Freeburg beat Breese Central 12-1. Cece Toennies and Makenna Budds had hits for Breese. Alyse Monken took the loss.
