The Iuka Park Development Corporation is pleased with the large turnout of consignment items and bidders at the annual event held in downtown Iuka on Saturday.
Corporation President Waylon Kleibocker reports there were 50 consigners, including at least one large estate, that brought small household items to vehicles and tractors to be auctioned off along several blocks of downtown Iuka streets. More than 330 numbers were given to the large crowd that attended to purchase items.
Kleiboeker says all proceeds will go to the Iuka Park.
“We have a set of play equipment we are trying to get put up. I’m still trying to work out a layout for the bathroom yet. So it’s what we are working on mainly.”
Kleiboeker says it will be several days before a final total raised from the consignment sale will be available.
Mike Hammond and Jonathon’s Auction Service held simultaneous auctions while Corporation volunteers provided food from the Iuka Township Building.
