A cold n very windy Benton Spring Fling Track and Field meet today for our Christ Our Rock Silver Stallions! However The Stallions and Lady Stallions still came away with some successful showings as several athletes placed in the respective events.

Fr. Chloe Tate got the day rolling as she battled a tough wind to throw a PR in the Discus 73Ft 11in and placed 8th overall grabbing 1 point. Jr. distance runner Elijah Gregory continued to standout for The Stallions as he won the 3200 meter run placing 1st in a time of 11:01.8, he also broke the 5 minute mark in the mile run in 4:59.6 placing 6th. His distance running teammate Zerek Koch also placed 5th in the 3200 meter run in 11:43.7.

For the Lady Stallions distance crew Soph. Rylee Brammeier had a great day placing 3rd in the 3200 meter run(13:29.6) and 6th in the 1600 meter run (6:23.7). In the speed events Soph. Isaiah Lyons had his best day in a long time placing 3rd in the 400 meter dash and 8th in the long jump. And newcomer Lillian Wedekemper gave it her first go in the 100 meter hurdles and 300 meter hurdles and did not disappoint. She placed 6th in the 100’s and 4th in the 300’s.

Stallions coach Tim Koch told WJBD/WSIQ, “Overall I was proud of all of our athletes for competing hard on a less than desirable day against some bigger schools with storied programs!”
