The Salem Wildcats fell at Columbia 11-1 to fall to 3-4 on the season and 1-1 in the Cahokia. Jalen Inlow was 2-2 for the Cats and drove in their only run, sophomore Keaton Gullion scored his first varsity run in the 2nd inning. Eli Rose and Isaak Williams also singled for Salem. The Eagles had 6 extra base hits including 2 triples and 4 doubles which was more than enough for Kansas recruit Dominic Voegele. He worked 5 innings allowing 4 hits and one run with 8 strikeouts. Gavin Zimmermann took the loss for Salem going 2 innings, Cooper Lobek, Colton Shelton and Kam Wilkins also got work on the mound.
The Salem JV fell at home to Columbia 9-4. Cody Beard doubled for the Cats and drove in 2 runs. Ryan Detering singled, scored and drove in a run. Braden Rector and Eli LoGrasso also had singles. Pitching for Salem was Brody Collier, Cooper Lobek, Deytin Parker and LoGrasso.
Odin/Patoka/Sandoval earned an 8-6 win over Webber Township. Williams was the winning pitcher going 6.2 allowing 4 hits and struck out 5. Cambden Parrish had 4 hits including a double and home run and drove in 3. Logan Haines added 3 hits and drove in a run and Hunter Lane had 2 hits and 3 RBI.
Christ Our Rock beat Marquette Catholic 4-3. Parker Boehne doubled and drove in a run. Also with RBI were Da’mari Dabney, Colton Oelze and Ethan Peltas. Myles Pryor added a single. Omari King & Jayden Bazile scored runs. Boehne was the winning pitcher going all 7 innings allowing 4 hits and 3 runs, none of them earned, with 2 strikeouts.
South Central is 6-0 on the season after an 8-0 win over visiting St Elmo/Brownstown. Anthony Buonaura went 2-4 with 4 RBI, Aidan Dodson had 2 hits including a double and drove in a run along with Chase Thompson. Coen West was the winning pitcher going 4 innings allowing 1 hit and struck out 5.
North Clay is 5-2 on the season after their 5-4 win in 8 innings over Carmi.
