The junior high volleyball seasons finished up this weekend at the SIJHSAA State Tournaments. In Class L at Pinckneyville, Waterloo beat Mascoutah in the championship. Salem regional champ Highland won 3rd over O’Fallon Fulton in 3-sets. Highland opened the tournament with a win over Carterville and then lost to Waterloo in the semifinals.
Nashville was the site for the Class M Tournament. Nashville finished 4th falling in the 3rd place game to NCOE in 3 sets. They opened the tournament with a win over Trico before losing to Smithton in the semifinals. In the title match, Red Bud needed 3 sets but beat Smithton 15-13 in the finale to win the title.
In Class S at Herrin, Germantown handed Trinity Stewardson their only loss of the season winning in straight sets in the championship. Selmaville’s season came to an end with an opening round loss to Jonesboro in straight sets. Rome lost in 2 sets to Germantown and Woodlawn fell to St John Trinity.
