JAL Volunteers Win First Ever National Men’s Basketball Title

John A Logan took home the 2023 NJCAA D1 Men’s basketball championship inside the Hutchinson Sports Arena.  The #1 seed beat the reigning champs Northwest Florida State 73-70.

Logan won 32 straight games to win the title after starting the season 1-2 to finish 33-2 and with the programs first ever national title.

The Volunteers Quimari Peterson was the William French MVP Award winner.  The sophomore guard scored 58 points during his 4 games.  He also had 18 rebounds and 20 assists.  Curt Lewis finished with 18 points and 7 rebounds.  Peterson added 15 and Isaiah Stafford finished with 10.

Stafford & Lewis were also named to the All Tournament Team as well.  Coach Tyler Smithpeters was named the Coach of the Tournament.
