The Selmaville Lady Rockets are Regional volleyball champions after winning the Odin Regionals yesterday. They opened with a 25-19, 25-20 win over Central City and then beat New Horizon in the championship 12-25, 25-17, 15-11. Kaolin Lewis had 18 service points in the win, Brylee Carter added 13. New Horizon made the title match by winning their semifinal over Odin 25-15, 25-16.
Raccoon opened up the Kell Regional with a win over Mt Vernon St Mary. They advance to play tomorrow against top-seed Rome at 6pm with Kell and Field in the other semifinal.
The St Peter Lady Saints dropped their semifinal at Altamont Lutheran to undefeated Trinity Stewardson 25-7, 25-14. This was after the Lady Saints won their opener over Patoka. Iuka advanced to the finals on Thursday with a 25-20, 5-25, 15-7 win over the hosts. The win improves the Lady Pirates to 19-2 on the season.
