Sophomore Lilly Blagoue opened up the season with a shutout victory in the circle beating Triad 4-0 as she struck out 11 batters. She also helped with the offense hitting a 2-run homer. Salem will be right back at it today when they host Benton. The Lady Cats JV also won 4-3 as Jaelyn Keller hit a 2 run homer and Bria Murray struck out 7 over 7 innings.
The SC Lady Cougars opened up their season with a 10-0 home win over Oblong. Taegan Webster was the winning pitcher allowing 1 hit. At the plate, Jaylyn Michel had 2 hits including a home run, Webster singled, Brooklyn Garrett added 3 singles and a double with an RBI, Ella Watwood had 2 hits along with Percilla Reid who drove in 3 runs. Abi Shuler drove in a run and Kyra Swift had 2 hits and 2 RBI. The Lady Cougars return to action on Friday at Okaw Valley.
Odin/Patoka won their opener 12-1 at Centralia. Trista Moore had 3 hits including a home run and Hailey Lane also added 3 hits. Kenzie Wilkerson added 2 with a hit each from Amiah Wallace, Madie Garrett, Lauren Robb, Rheagan Rollinson and Maci Spicer. Spicer earned the win going all 7 innings striking out 4 and only allowing 5 hits. Odin/Patoka returns to action this afternoon when they host Christ Our Rock in their home opener.
