Iris ‘Christine’ Homann, age 89, formerly of Centralia, passed away Tuesday, March 12, 2024 in Carlyle Healthcare Center.Christine came into this life on December 26, 1934 in Bird Township of Arkansas. She was the daughter of John Lewis and Flossie Jane (Coleman) Lewis. She married Rollin Homann in July of 1969 and he preceded her in death on November 5, 2023.When Christine departed from this life, she left behind her two step sons: Michael Homann and wife Robin of Glen Carbon, IL and Thomas Homann of Comer, GA; three daughters: Janet Homann of Callahan, FL, Vickie Nollman of Mt. Vernon, and Bobbie McClelland of Mt. Vernon; ten grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; one brother: Jim Lewis; and several nephews.Upon her passing, Christine was reunited with her husband Rollin Homann, her parents: John and Flossie Lewis; daughter: Mary Janell Moll; great-granddaughter: DeAngelique Anderson; and sister-in-law: Arletta Sachtleben.Christine was a caring, maternal figure. She was housewife for most of her life. She had strong religious faith and attended Trinity Lutheran Church in Centralia with her husband. She enjoyed watching old Western movies and shows, especially John Wayne Movies. Some of her favorite pastimes was spent traveling and camping with her family in their RV. She was grateful for her family and enjoyed spending time with them. She will be dearly missed those that knew her.A Graveside Service for Christine Homann will be held at 11:00am on March 15, 2024 at Hillcrest Memorial Park with Pastor Alan Nollman officiating. A visitation will be held from 10:00am till 10:45am on March 15, 2024 at the Lakeside Chapel at Hillcrest Memorial Park. The family would like for any monetary donations in memory of Christine can be made payable to the Centralia Humane Society and can be accepted Sutherland-Garnier Funeral Home at 235 North Sycamore Street Centralia, Illinois 62801, (618)532-3523, who is honored to be of service to the family of Christine Homann.
