The Altamont 1a Sectional was one for the ages, as Tuscola held off the Indians and outlasted them in quadruple overtime 72-68. Mason Robinson led Altamont with 25 points, Dillan Elam added 17 and Avery Jahraus 10. Tuscola advances to the SIU Carbondale Super Sectional on Monday to play Mounds Meridian who beat Webber at Junction 74-69.
The other 1a team playing on Monday is Waterloo Gibault after their 58-56 win over Springfield Calvary at Hardin. Gibault will face off against Illini Bluffs at Jacksonville.
In 2a, the Pinckneyville Panthers won at home over Breese Central 47-43 in a tight ballgame throughout at Pinckneyville High School. They advance to SIU Supers on Monday to play the TTown Wood Shoes after their 61-54 win over Lawrenceville at Newton. Garrett Gaddis led TTown with 23.
In 3a, East St Louis won the Centralia Sectional using a 20-0 second half run to pull away from Triad 53-38. The Flyers will advance to Springfield to play Sacred Heart Griffin Monday at 7:30.
In 4a, O’Fallon’s season came to an end falling to Moline in Moline 62-38.
