The Winter Athletic Awards were handed out at SCHS this week.
In boys basketball, Seth Bailey had high free throw percentage and Most Valuable, Connor Tennyson was the rebounding award winner and offensive player of the year, Jairen Stroud Most Improved and Sam Greene Best Defense.
In girls basketball, Kayla Felgenhauer was named MVP, Natalie Lee was Best Defense, Lauren Burge was Most Improved and Alesia Keller was Best Offense.
For Cheering, Ruthie Hays and Emeree Giles were Most Improved, Maya Susmena was Most Spirited. In Dance Team Awards it was Joelie Schaubert Most Valuable and Marissa Wooters Most Dedicated.
The State Champion Boys Bowling Team were recognized as they brought home not only the school’s 2nd ever team state title, but also 2nd individual title with Charlie Hunter. Salem also had every senior from the boys team receive a scholarship to bowl at the collegiate level. Hunter was named Team MVP, Ryan Detering received the I Want It award and Keaton Gullion was Most Improved.
For the girls bowling team, Jaeda Rollinson was Most Valuable, Taylor Blackburn was Most Improved
Keyton King was named Most Valuable Wrestler and Carson Osborne Most Improved.
