The Class S State championship is set for tomorrow. The Central City Citians, in a game heard on WJBD, advanced with a 46-26 win over New Simpson Hill. The Citians led from start to finish as they got double digit scoring from Carson Griffith who finished with 14, Kruz Jackson added 13 and Archie Goewey finished with 12. The win improves the Citians to 26-6 on the season.
They advance to play at 4pm tomorrow against 29-1 Woodlawn who beat Meridian 54-44 in the first game of the night. We will have the game for you tomorrow on the radio. The 3rd place game will begin at 2:30.
Tonight they will crown a champion in Class M. The day begins at 6pm with Sparta Lincoln playing Fairfield for 3rd place and then it’s Nashville and Joseph Arthur Middle School of O’Fallon in the title game at 7:30.
The Class L Tournament opens tomorrow. At 9:30 it’s Centralia and Olney followed by Herrin and Whiteside at 10:45, Harrisburg plays Casey Mount Vernon at noon and Belleville Central and O’Fallon Carriel play at 1:15.
