The Sandoval School Board was told Monday night they had achieved a perfect 4.0 on the State Board of Education financial recognition profile.

The board approved its tax levy at 4.99-percent to avoid a truth in taxation hearing.   School Board President Joey Rhodes noted the board had wisely decided at its last meeting not to go up to the maximum 8.27-percent increase they were eligible due to the sharp rise in property tax assessments.

The board learned the old boiler system in the junior-senior high school gym would be taken out the first day of winter break on December 21st.  A new heating and air conditioning system is now in operation.  There will be a $650,000 roof and painting project undertaken at the school next summer.

Five parents were in attendance concerning the behavior of a 7th grade student they felt was disruptive to their children learning.   Three who spoke to the board also said the student had been bullying others.   The parents asked for some type of action to be taken.
