2023 12/07 – Earl LaRue King

Earl LaRue King, 79, of Mount Vernon, Illinois, formerly of Bluford, Illinois, passed away at 8:54 pm December 4, 2023, at Mount Vernon Countryside Manor.

He was born September 27, 1944, in Marion, Illinois to the late Earl and Aleatha (Jack) King. Earl is survived by his children, Sheri Stone and husband, Bill of Dongola, Illinois, Conan King and wife, J.J. of Sesser, Illinois, and Robert “Bo” King of Mount Vernon; granddaughter, Kristen Tite and husband, Josh of Dongola; great-grandchildren, Gage Stone and Jaelyn Tite; brother, Michael King of Hurst, Illinois; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Earl was preceded in death by his son, Chris King; siblings, Sam King, Steve King, and Bryan King; sister-in-law, Jama King; nephew, Aaron King; and niece, Sarah King.

Earl proudly served his country in the United States Army. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Bluford, Illinois, as well as IBEW since 1967, Village Board Trustee and Building Inspector for the Village of Bluford, and member of the Bluford Ruritans. Earl enjoyed hunting and fishing. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
