Sharlyn L. Evans, 65, formerly of Hoffman, passed away on Wednesday, November 29, 2023, at Cedar Ridge Village Retirement Community in West Des Moines, Iowa.
She was born to William and Lorine (Schroeder) Nottmeyer on September 10, 1958 in Hoffman, Illinois. Sharlyn graduated from Carlyle High School in 1976 and Kaskaskia College in 1978. She worked several jobs in the clerical field during her career. She retired in 2009 following a stroke. Her great loves were reading, and taking care of children.
She married Clyde Evans on June 16, 1979, and he survives in West Des Moines, Iowa. In addition to her husband of 44 years, she is survived by her daughters, Alyica Foelker (Andy) of Fitchburg, Wisconsin, Stephanie Ryerson of McCallsburg, Iowa, and a son, Chris Evans of West Des Moines, Iowa; grandchildren Travis, Natalie, and Brooke Foelker, and Conner, Casey, and Collin Ryerson. She is also survived by a brother, Gerald Nottmeyer of Hoffman, Illinois, and sisters Verdell Peterson and husband Joseph of Belleville, Illinois, and Janelle Miller of Centralia, Illinois.
She was preceded in death by her parents William and Lorine Nottmeyer.
