Salem ESports Fortnite Team Has Fantastic State Competition, Mendoza State Champ

The Salem E-Sports Fortnite teams wrapped up their seasons this past Saturday.  Varsity competed in Arena Solos Build mode and the JV competed in Arena Solos Zero Build mode.

The Salem JV was 2nd overall in the State of Illinois with 100 competitors.  State champion was Ramiro Mendoza with Taylor Blackburn 11th, Hayden Rutledge-Jones 12th and Seth Myers 19th.

Also performing well were Austin Woolridge (21), Micah Hendricks(45), Colton Garrison (60), John Green (65), Aden Doolen (67) and Billy Eca (68).

The Varsity had the most players from a single school to qualify for the State Finals with 9.  The 2nd highest team score, Highest total combined score in the state as well as most combined eliminations in the state.

Haden Irvin was 8th in the finals, Kaleb Lang 15th, Kameron Wilkins was 19th.  Also competing were TJ Gillett (22), Owen Becker (28), Tomas Workman (49), Mason Jones (54), Brian Evilsizer (84), Silas Moats (26 Conference) and Ronnie Pollard (32 Conference).

Non Competitive Academy Members include Brianna Barham, Elizabeth Eca, Brenden England, Payshence Shackleford.

And the online broadcasting team included Jackson Jarrett, Kannon King and Coach Kyle Ledbetter.
