Janet G. Mays, 87, of Salem, passed away Wednesday, November 8, 2023, at Salem Township Hospital.
She was born June 24, 1936, in Salem, the daughter of Raymond Owens and Violet (Foraker) Owens. She married Marshall Leroy Sinclair and he preceded her in death. Janet married Buerle Mays and he preceded her in death.
Janet is survived by her five children: Jesse William Sinclair of South Carolina, Marsha Lantz of Salem, Almayna Hawley of Iuka, Kathy Watts of Phoenix, Arizona, and Charity Hollis of Somerton, Arizona; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; three brothers: Steve Owens of Salem, Marvin Owens of Salem, and Robert Owens of Oklahoma; two sisters Mona Crundwell of Florida and Jessie Pitts of Kell; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and brother: Jarvis Owens, and a sister: Delilah Hayes.
Janet was of the Apostolic Faith. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend.
