Connie Jean Lee, 75, of Mount Vernon, Illinois, passed away at 10:40 a.m. on October 26, 2023, at Saint Elizabeth Hospital in O’Fallon, Illinois.
She was born October 1, 1948, in Mount Vernon to the late Charles Wilbur and Sarah Lenora (Stewart) Lee.
Connie is survived by sister, Sandy Minton and husband, Jim; nephew, Jeremy Minton and wife, Kacey; niece, Jenna Melvin and husband, Kyle; great-nephews, Jameson Minton and Amiri Rose; great-niece, Kayla Melvin; special friend, William Jenkins; treasured dogs, Lex and Cooper; and many other relatives.
In addition to her parents, Connie was preceded in death by her brother, Monty Stewart Lee.
Connie was a very active person who taught school for 33 years, sold real estate for many years, and presently worked for WISPER Internet Company. Connie’s passions included fast cars and her love of animals.
A Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 29, 2023, from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Hughey Funeral Home in Mount Vernon. A Funeral Service will begin at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Britt Fullerton officiating. Interment will follow at South Hickory Hill Cemetery in Mount Vernon.
