Elaine Ross, 94, of Centralia, passed away peacefully on October 22nd, 2023 at Fireside in Centralia.She was born on June 1st, 1929 to Hallett Oliver Norman and Eva Lucinda (Haigwood) Norman. She married David Ross in 1952 in Vandalia.Elaine is survived by her children; Linda Still and husband Bill, Dale Ross and wife Rose, Dean Ross, and Nancy Jo Ansley and husband Jon; grandchildren Jennifer Berry and husband Dave, Tony Ross, Patty Ross, Sara Ross, Katie Jo Ross, Jamie Jo Walker, Joni Walker, Nellie Walker, and Jacey Walker; and great-grandchildren Christian, Ethan, Mollie, Quentin, and Ansley.She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband David, brother Jim Norman, and sister Alyene.Elaine was strong in her faith and was disappointed anytime she couldn’t go to church. She loved her God and encouraged others to love him too. She enjoyed baking and cooking for her family, or just baking to make something delicious. She worked at the Dress Factory/ Miss Elaine for over 40 years before her retirement. Sewing and working as a seamstress was her passion.
A graveside service for Elaine will be held on October 26th, 2023 at 2:30 p.m. at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Sandoval. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the donor’s choice and will be accepted at Sutherland-Garnier Funeral Home at 235 N.
