The annual Wamac Fest will be held Saturday at the Wamac Park.
Mayor Butch Mathis says activities begin at three Saturday afternoon and continue until 11:30 Saturday evening.
“We have two wonderful entertainment groups. First one is Joel Young performing solo from 4-7. Then around 7:30-11 we have Dr Wobbles. Then we have the Timmons family cooking up the delicious Wamac famous BBQ pork steak with brats & hotdogs. And we will have C&C Inflatables and a cake walk.”
Mathis is reminding those making cakes for the cake walk to have them at the park by five pm. The cake walk will begin at six pm. The Kids’ Train will also be operating.
Mathis says all the money goes back into the park.
“I hope everybody notices the upgrades we have done at the park. We have put in some new boards and painted the playground equipment and such. And all this money we raise every year goes for the upkeep and expansion of the city park. Tip of the hat to everyone who helps make this possible.”
Mathis is hoping to see a big crowd.
