On Saturday, September 2, 2023, Beth Lemons, 65, passed away surrounded by her oldest children at her home in Clarksville, Tennessee.
Beth Janine Taylor was born November 20, 1957, to Dorothy Erickson Smith in northern Illinois where she lived until meeting and marrying Michael “Mike” E. Lemons on May 5, 1978, when they moved to Mt. Vernon, Illinois to begin their life together.
Beth had a few jobs throughout her life but her favorite by far was working in the District 80 school system where she enjoyed working first as a librarian and then as a paraprofessional until her retirement in 2022. Her commitment to helping children did not stop at her job. She also welcomed many children into her home during her many years of foster parenting.
One of Beth’s favorite things was to spend time with her dear group of friends, the SOBs, at Salem Presbyterian Church.
