Tonia (Burge) Davis, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother “Memaw”, sister, and aunt received her Heavenly Reward on Wednesday, August 30th, 2023 at the age of 68. Tonia was born in Centralia, Illinois on June 15, 1955, to Hazel (Gaultney) Burge and Neil Burge.
She grew up in the Centralia rural area, attending Raccoon Grade School and Salem High School. Her Christian Education included Fairview Church and Demaree United Methodist Church. Her secretarial career ended with her retirement from the Warren G. Murray Developmental Center. Tonia began her walk with Jesus at a young age and was most currently a member of Grace Nazarene Church in Salem. Tonia loved every minute she spent with her family. She also enjoyed going and relaxing at the beach.
She is survived by her husband of 40 years: Jeff Davis of Centralia; two sons, Cameron Davis and wife Lydia of Edwardsville and Kendall and wife Lauren of Brighton; 5 granddaughters known as”her little princesses”: Maddie, Ava, Mylee, Eden, and Maycee; sister Lisa Brothers of Centralia; 2 brothers-in-law Bob Davis and Michele of Lebanon, Illinois and Rich Davis and Martina of Centralia; 2 special sisters: Darla Miller and husband Brian, and Holly Davis and husband Andy; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Hazel and Neil Burge, brother-in-law Mike Brothers, and special brother and sister: Mike and Darlene Richards.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, September 2, 2023, at 2:00 PM at the Sutherland-Garnier Funeral Home in Centralia with Pastor Trent Ice officiating. Burial will follow at the Burge Cemetery in rural Centralia. Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 2, 2023, from 12:00 p.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Burge Cemetery for the upkeep and/or Grace Nazarene Church in Salem and will be accepted at Sutherland-Garnier Funeral Home.
