Debra Diane (Colwell) Gresham, 71, of Bluford, Illinois, passed away at 6:33 a.m. August 23, 2023, at Heartland Regional Medical Center in Marion, Illinois.
She was born March 26, 1952, in Mount Vernon, Illinois, to the late Fred and Freda (Romoser) Colwell. Debra married Richard Ted Gresham on April 28, 1979, at Logan Street Baptist Church in Mount Vernon.
In addition to her beloved husband, Debra is survived by her brother, Dale (Kathie) Colwell; sister-in-law, Norma Colwell; brothers-in-law, Gene (Beth) Gresham, and Mike Gresham; as well as several nieces, nephews, and great and great-great nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Debra was preceded in death by her brother, Don Colwell.
Debra loved her family deeply. She was a faithful Christian for over 60 years. Debra attended Bluford Church of God, where she taught Sunday School, faithfully cleaned the church, and served as a former president of Christian Women’s Connection. Debra was a kind, caring person who trusted God in everything she did. She loved eating out, shopping, and showering loved ones with gifts.
A Visitation will be held Friday, August 25, 2023, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Bluford First Church of God in Bluford. A Funeral Service will be held Saturday, August 26, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. at Bluford Church of God with Reverend Jimmie Fitzjerrells officiating. Interment will follow at Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens in Woodlawn, Illinois. Memorials may be made in Debra’s honor to the Bluford Church of God.
