A unique new event is planned in Foundation Park in Centralia on Saturday.
The Ministry Outreach Foundation in partnership with Crossroads Church in Centralia is sponsoring the Centralia Community Back to School Good News Festival.
The Minister at Crossroads Church Ronnie Tabor says the event came about after the Ministry Outreach Foundation had another event canceled in St. Louis allowing them to help put on the Centralia festival.
“We are going to have free music, a couple of different bands and groups playing. Also going to have a gospel magician from O’Fallon, Illinois who will be with a couple of assistants walking through the crowd doing balloons for the kids and come on stage for gospel magic. And then we have a BMX demonstration team again out of Missouri coming over setting up their ramps and doing 2 25-minute BMX displays.”
Tabor says there will also be free giveaways including large screen TVs, bicycles, basketballs, and other prizes. Free student haircuts will also be provided for students preparing to go back to school. There will be six pallets of free food and clothing that will be available for the giveaway as well.
