Secretary of State Jesse White’s office is again extending the expiration date for Illinois Driver’s Licenses and ID Cards.
The current expiration deadline is July 1st, but that’s now being delayed until December first. That way, Secretary of State spokesperson Henry Haupt says no one needs to rush into their local driver’s license facility. He notes that more people than ever can now renew their licenses online.
“In fact, the only people who would not qualify for online renewal would be very first-time driver’s license or ID applications because they have nothing to renew, first-time Real ID applicants, and drivers 75 and over who are required by state law to visit a driver’s license facility when they renew their license.”
You can also take care of other business online, like renewing your license plate sticker at ILSOS.gov.
