Guy R. Moore, 70, of Irvington, passed away Friday, July 14, 2023, at his home. Guy was born August 5, 1952, in Salt Lake City, UT, the son of John T. Moore and Doris (Babb) Phillips. He was married to Holly Robertson, with whom they had 3 children, and they later divorced.Guy is survived by one son: Ian Moore and wife Jessica of Las Vegas, NV; two daughters: Emily Moore/Flores and husband Luis Flores of Centralia, and Samantha Henson and husband James of Lawson, MO; nine grandchildren: Katlyn Rushing of Hamptons, NY, Khloe Rushing of Mt. Vernon, Sofia Flores of Centralia, Jacob Moore of Centralia, Nathan Moore a Naval corpsman currently stationed in North Carolina, Hunter Henson of Lawson, MO, Madison Henson an ESL instructor living in South Korea, and Dominic Cook a Naval officer stationed in the Great Lakes, Illinois; also survived by several nieces and nephews.In loving memory, we bid farewell to a remarkable individual who graced our lives with his passions and talents. This extraordinary soul found great joy in the realms of geology, astronomy, chemistry, and the wonders of nature. He was an avid angler, finding solace and excitement by the water’s edge, and a skilled artisan in leatherwork, crafting beautiful creations with his hands.As we gather to remember and honor him, we cherish the legacy of a man whose love for the Earth and the cosmos knew no bounds. His enthusiasm for rocks, stars, and the mysteries of the universe ignited curiosity in others, leaving an indelible impact on all who had the pleasure of knowing him.Guy’s 4.5 years of dedicated service in the U.S. Army were also marked by remarkable achievements, earning him several medals and badges of excellence, including the National Defense Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal, and Expert Badge. His military education encompassed biomedical X-ray equipment maintenance and tactical microwave systems repair, showcasing his commitment to excellence in every endeavor.May his fondness for exploration and understanding continue to inspire us as we reflect on the cherished memories he leaves behind. His spirit will forever shine brightly in our hearts, reminding us to embrace the wonders of the natural world and find beauty in the simple pleasures of life. In his memory, let us carry forward his passions and share his love for learning, leaving a lasting tribute to the remarkable person he was.Per Guy’s wishes, cremation rites will be accorded, and no public services will be held.
