Police Beat for Thursday, July 21st, 2022

The Marion County Sheriff’s Department has arrested a 33-year-old Waltonville woman for possession of methamphetamine and bringing contraband into a penal institution.   Detectives say they received a tip that Shaina Rodgers of North Carter Road may have brought methamphetamine into the jail when reporting to serve a sentence for driving on a suspended license.   A search allegedly turned up methamphetamine in her personal property leading to the arrest.

Patoka Police arrested a 67-year-old Vernon man for aggravated battery to a police officer and resisting a peace officer.   Ronnie Crawford of Burks Road allegedly began involved in an altercation with the Patoka officer after he was found in a van parked in the 100 block of East Clinton.

Centralia Police arrested 30-year-old Hailey Alcala of Franklin Street in Odin for possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia

51-year-old John Williams of North Poplar in Centralia was arrested by Centralia Police for theft.

Salem Police arrested three on outstanding warrants.  21-year-old Jonathan Altom, who told police he was homeless, was arrested on a Clinton County warrant for failure to appear on a possession of a controlled substance charge.  Bond was set at $5,000.   29-year-old Cody Buchanan of East Main in Salem was arrested on a Clinton County failure to appear warrant for possession of meth.  Bond was also set at $5,000.   Both were later transferred to the Clinton County Jail.   51-year-old Marjorie Woodward of East Olive in Salem was arrested on a Marion County failure to appear warrant in an aggravated battery case.   Bond was set at $15,000.  Woodward was also arrested for driving on a suspended or revoked license following the traffic stop at North Hoots Chapel and West Main Street in Salem.
