One pleads guilty, one charged with possession of methamphetamine

One person pleaded guilty and another was charged with possession of under five grams of methamphetamine in Marion County Court on Tuesday.

34-year-old Shelanda Sheckleford of Frazier Street in Centralia pleaded guilty to possession of meth. She was placed on two years first offender probation, drug and alcohol evaluation and treatment, and 30 hours of public service work. As part of the plea agreement, a charge of possession of five to 15 grams of meth and possession of drug paraphernalia were dropped.

Meanwhile, 28-year-old Kerry Whipple of Carter Road in rural Kell was charged with possession of under five grams of methamphetamine. If found guilty, Whipple faces an extended term sentence due to a past conviction. Bond was set at $10,000 and the public defender appointed to represent him.
