A 32-year-old Salem man faces a Class X armed violence charge as well as possession of meth and unlawful possession of a weapon by a felon following a weekend arrest by Salem Police.
Police say they were on routine patrol when they allegedly spotted Anthony Hays of East Church urinating in public in the 500 block of Allmon Street. Since Hays was on parole, police searched him and allegedly found he was in possession of meth, a controlled substance believed to be fentanyl and a stun gun.
Bond was set at $50,000 and the public defender was appointed to represent Hays.
