Salem Police arrested both occupants of a car following a traffic stop near Rainey and Hamilton on the city’s southeast side Monday morning. After seeing quite a bit of movement between the two occupants, police searched the immediate area within their reach in the front seat and allegedly found cannabis. A full
search of the car was then completed with drugs found in the area of the passenger who was identified as 26-year-old Dakota Whyers of North Miller in Salem. He was taken to the Marion County Jail for alleged possession of under five grams of methamphetamine and possession of a controlled substance for
allegedly having suspected fentanyl. The driver, 28-year-old Blossom Plumb of South Washington Street in Salem, was given a notice to appear for driving on a revoked license.
Wamac Police arrested 27-year-old Kerry Whipple, Junior of Carter Road in Kell for possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, and on an Illinois Department of Corrections warrant.
43-year-old Laycee Yarbrough who listed a motel address in Salem was arrested for violation of bail bond.
