The Murray Developmental Center in Centralia is holding a job fair on Wednesday in hopes of filling open Mental Health Technician positions.

Director Lori Demijan says because the online application is somewhat difficult to complete, they are inviting those who want to apply to come to Murray Center to get assistance in obtaining the jobs that start at $20.40 an hour.

“Now we have 36 mental health technician positions that we are advertising for.  That would be direct care services to the people that live at Murray Center.  We are having a job fair on July 20 from 9a-3p at the Administration Building at Murray Center to help with that application process so they can apply online.”

Demijan says duties include but are not limited to caring for individuals with mental illness and developmental disabilities, maintaining a safe, clean and orderly unit, and must be able to lift up to 50 pounds. Completion of high school or equivalent required. Trainees are promoted to techs within 9 to 12 months. The positions include health insurance, paid holidays, dental and vision insurance, deferred comp, and a pension.

Demijan says Murray Center also has openings for office associates, 15 nursing positions as well as a behavior analyst and physiologist.

Demijan says Murray Center’s population is remaining stable at around 257 residents with some discharges and some moving in.
