A 27-year-old Centralia man has been formally charged in Marion County Court with aggravated battery in a public place after allegedly punching a man through a window of his car after he refused to give him a ride.
Jarrod Jolliff of Johnson Street allegedly talked to the alleged victim while he was waiting at the stop light at Noleman and Walnut Street. The alleged victim was reportedly struck in the arm and chest area Jolliff is then reported to have sped away.
The incident was reported on the evening of June 25th, but Jolliff was not located by police until over the weekend.
Bond for Jolliff was set at $15,000 and the public defender was appointed to represent him. He was ordered to have no contact with the alleged victim if he is able to post bond.
