Police Beat for Sunday, July 10th, 2022

Seven people were arrested and taken to the Marion County Jail on Saturday and early Sunday morning.   All remain in custody on Sunday pending a decision on the filing of formal charges or the posting of bond.

Centralia Police arrested 27-year-old Jarrod Jolliff of Johnston Street in Centralia on two counts of alleged aggravated battery.

Centralia Police arrested 50-year-old Darin King of North Lincoln in Centralia for alleged possession of a controlled substance, resisting arrest, and driving on a suspended license.

Centralia Police also arrested 50-year-old James Garner of South Locust in Centralia for alleged burglary and on an Illinois Department of Corrections warrant.

Salem Police arrested 34-year-old Walter Williams of North Broadway in Salem on an outstanding Marion County failure to appear warrant for possession of under five grams of methamphetamine.  Bond is set at $20,000.   Salem Police stopped Williams as he was riding his bike on North Broadway and Bryan Street because they knew he was wanted on the warrant.

Salem Police arrested 52-year-old Paul Drake of Kerr Street in Centralia on a Marion County felony warrant for felony theft and an outstanding Texas warrant.   Bond on the Marion County warrant is set at $20,000.   Salem Police took Drake into custody after reporting to a 911 hang-up call with a woman screaming in the background at the Days Inn.

Centralia Police arrested 50-year-old Michael Keeler of Saddler Street in Centralia for alleged domestic battery.

23-year-old Bernard Barnes of Baton Rouge, Louisiana remains in custody after being arrested by Centralia Police on an outstanding Marion County felony warrant for failure to appear on an unlawful possession of firearm charge.
