Tickets go on sale Monday morning for grandstand events at the 82nd annual Marion County Fair.
As in the past, tickets will only be sold in person at the fair box office from nine to noon on Monday. Phone orders will then begin at noon by calling 618-548-1251. There is a $3 fee per order if using debit or credit cards.
There are a few changes to the grandstand lineup of the fair that begins on Saturday, July 29th. The final evening of the fair, on Saturday, August 6th, will now feature the Lucas Oil Pro Pulling League Tractor Pull. Pro Stock, Super Modified Tractors, and Super Stock Diesel will be featured. The Marion County Fair Talent Show will move to Sunday night at six pm and will be followed by a Family Fun Night of Christian Music at seven pm. Both events are free and there will also be free parking on Sunday evening.
The rest of the grandstand lineup is the same as last year, starting with the Moto Cross at six pm on Saturday, July 30th, the Draft Horse Pull at noon on Sunday, the ITPA Tractor Pull at 6:30 on Monday, August 1st, the Marion County Fair Queen and Little Miss Pageant at seven Tuesday night, the Whippoorwill Rodeo at seven Wednesday night, the Junior Miss and Little Miss Pageant at 7 Thursday night, and the Marion County Demolition Derby at 6:30 Friday evening, August 5th.
The Little Egypt Shows will be operational on the fairgrounds from Sunday, July 31st to Saturday, August 6th. A $20 armband will be available every evening. Exhibit building entries will be accepted from noon to six on Friday, July 29th, and nine to noon on Saturday, July 30th. Kids Day at the Fair will return for another year on Monday, August 1st, from nine am to two pm. Kids will get a chance to experience country life at the fairgrounds. All activities are free.
